Generation of the Maxwellian inflow distribution
This paper presents several efficient, exact acceptance–rejection methods for generating the Maxwellian inflow distribution, the velocity distribution of gas molecules crossing a plane. The new methods are demonstrated to be computationally faster and more accurate than the schemes commonly used for open boundary conditions in particle simulations. 2006 Elsevier Inc. متن کاملEfficient Generation of PH-Distributed Random Variates
Phase-type (PH) distributions are being used to model a wide range of phenomena in performance and dependability evaluation. The resulting models may be employed in analytical as well as in simulationdriven approaches. Simulations require the efficient generation of random variates from PH distributions. PH distributions have different representations and different associated computational cost...
متن کاملfrom linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar
chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...

The relativistic Landau-Maxwell system is among the most fundamental and complete models for describing the dynamics of a dilute collisional plasma in which particles interact through Coulombic collisions and through their self-consistent electromagnetic field. We construct the first global in time classical solutions. Our solutions are constructed in a periodic box and near the relativistic Ma...
متن کاملSimulating theta random variates
We develop an exact simple random variate generator for the theta distribution, which occurs as the limit distribution of the height of nearly all models of uniform random trees. Even though the density is only known as an infinite sum of functions, our algorithm does not require any summation. The properties of the theta distribution with distribution function F(x)= ~ (1-2j2x2)e-J2x2 j~-(x3 oo...
